The Call Is Coming From Inside.
A shell company mailed 3 million Texas homes a fake 'trans advocacy' guide — not to persuade, but to manufacture the outrage of finding it. The attack was disguised as coming from the other side: friendly fire, sold as an assault. It's one of the oldest tricks in politics — fake the enemy, harvest the backlash.
Faking the enemy — forging their voice, planting a provocateur, or staging an attack and pinning it on them — is a documented, century-old, cross-spectrum tactic. The 2026 Texas 'trans mailer' is the live case; the ledger is the proof it's a tool almost everyone with power has reached for.
METHOD: every ledger entry is a DOCUMENTED case = FACT (proven by a court, a congressional committee, a judge's unmasking order, or an intelligence attribution). We draw no scoreboard and offer no editorial about which column is longer — the ledger is the argument, and it is a LIVING one we add to as new cases are documented. FENCES: this is NOT the property of any party — Project Birmingham (2017) is a clean LEFT-run op, and states/secret police are the heaviest users of all; we apply the same yardstick to everyone; we EXCLUDE by name the unproven inversion ('X is secretly a government false flag' absent evidence — e.g., Patriot Front). Cover FACT.
A GOP-aligned fund mailed fake 'trans advocacy' guides to ~3M Texas homes to manufacture backlash.
The live case, on the record. A Wyoming shell company spent heavily to mail ~3 million Texas households a pamphlet masquerading as a guide from an LGBTQ+ student group — timed to the election, built not to advocate but to provoke conservative outrage at a fabricated 'trans group,' with harassment and threats falling on real people. A Travis County judge ordered the senders unmasked; the trail led to the Republican Women's Caucus Fund and GOP operative John Braun, not to any trans organization. A West Texas DA opened a criminal forgery investigation, with a Republican official reportedly calling it a step too far. The deception is the point: the mailer only works if the recipient believes trans people sent it.
This is a named, century-old tactic: fake the enemy to harvest the backlash.
The Texas mailer is textbook, not novel — a family of tactics with a long paper trail: black propaganda, the political dirty trick, the false flag, the agent provocateur. The mechanism is constant: because accurately quoting opponents doesn't always damage them, you impersonate them — forge their letterhead (Zinoviev, Canuck), wear their colors to commit the violence they'll be blamed for (planted provocateurs), or stage an attack on yourself and assign it to them (racial/political hoaxes). In every version the outrage or sympathy is genuine while its cause is manufactured — which is why it works and why it's corrosive.
The ledger: faking the enemy, by who ran it.
- RIGHT: 2026 Texas 'trans mailer' (GOP-aligned fund); 2020 'Umbrella Man' Minneapolis (white-supremacist provocateur smashing windows to be blamed on protesters); 2020 fake 'Antifa' account traced to Identity Evropa; 2017 Project Veritas fake-accuser sting on the Washington Post; 1972 Canuck letter / Segretti 'ratfucking'; 1924 Zinoviev letter.
- LEFT: 2017 Project Birmingham (New Knowledge operatives, fake 'conservative' presence + Russian-bot hoax vs. a Republican in Alabama).
- INCLUSION RULE: this ledger tracks ORGANIZED operations only — run by a party, a group, or a state. Lone individuals who stage an attack on themselves for personal cover are a real but separate phenomenon, found on every side, and are not counted here (no false equivalency between a political op and a person in crisis).
- STATES & INTELLIGENCE SERVICES (the heaviest users): COINTELPRO forged Panther letters (FBI, 1960s-70s); the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (Tsarist forgery, 1903); Operation INFEKTION (KGB AIDS disinfo, 1980s); spoofed 'Proud Boys' voter-threat emails attributed to Iran (2020); undercover police provocateurs at Montebello (2007); Italy's 'strategy of tension' (1969-80s, command chain partly contested).
The line we hold.
- METHOD: every entry is a DOCUMENTED case = FACT (court / committee / judge's unmasking / intelligence attribution). No scoreboard, no editorial on which column is longer — the ledger is the argument, and it's living (we add as new cases are documented).
- FENCES: not the property of any party (Project Birmingham is left-run; states do it most); same yardstick for everyone; we EXCLUDE the unproven inversion — 'X is secretly a government false flag' absent evidence (e.g., Patriot Front) is its own conspiracy theory.
- The point survives either way: the outrage these ops harvest is real while its cause is fake — and the honest answer isn't cynicism but receipts, which is what this ledger is.
Why it matters.
The tactic exploits the one thing a healthy society needs most: the willingness to react to what the other side actually does. A citizen angry at a genuine outrage is behaving well — and fake-the-enemy turns that virtue into a lever, borrowing real anger and pointing it at a cause manufactured for the purpose, usually at the expense of people who did nothing. In Texas the people who paid for the mailer weren't trans; the people who absorbed the threats were. The outrage was authentic; its target was fabricated; that gap is the machine. The second cost should worry everyone: once the public learns an 'attack' can be staged, it starts to suspect every attack is staged — and that corrodes the ability to answer the real ones. The fabricator and the denialist end up allied: one manufactures a fake outrage, the other uses the possibility of fakery to dismiss a true one. The honest response isn't cynicism but receipts — which is what this ledger is: not an argument that nothing is real, but a way to tell the manufactured from the genuine by doing the work the tactic counts on you skipping.
Help us fill these lines.
- OpenHow much 'spontaneous' outrage in any given news cycle is actually authored — by design, a well-run fake-the-enemy op is invisible unless someone (a judge, a leaker, an analyst) unmasks it, as happened in Texas.
- OpenThe full client and money trail behind the Texas mailer beyond the Republican Women's Caucus Fund and the named operative — what the forgery investigation and depositions ultimately establish.
- OpenThe contested command chains in the state-run cases (Italy's 'strategy of tension'; the precise culpability behind the Reichstag Fire) — documented as patterns, not yet closed at the top.
