Grifter Hypocrisy Hall of Shame

The public claim. The person who made it. The public record that contradicts them. If they made it to this page, we consider them grifters.

This is a running list. When we have a real, verbatim quote we mark it as such and put it in quotation marks. When we don’t, we use a labeled paraphrase and skip the quote marks entirely. Every reality column is cited to primary sources. Every row links to the deeper roster block where the whole file lives.

Column 1

The Claim

What was said, on the record, in public. Labeled Verbatim when we have the exact words, labeled Paraphrase when we don’t. Quote marks are reserved for the real thing.

Column 2

By Who

The person or office that said it. No anonymous villains. Attribution or nothing.

Column 3

Reality

The public record. Court filings, congressional testimony, federal disclosures, wire reporting. Every source linked.

Entry 01
The Claim

That Hunter Biden and his father ran a corrupt foreign-influence-peddling operation that enriched the Biden family.

Paraphrase (not a direct quote)

Trump rally remarks and Truth Social posts, 2020-2024; core allegation traced to the FD-1023 informant tip that ultimately produced congressional investigations and impeachment inquiries

By Who

Donald J. Trump, Sitting U.S. President; congressional Republicans; the 118th Congress House Oversight and House Judiciary Committees

Six years of federal investigation. Multiple grand juries. Two impeachment inquiries. The core criminal allegation (a $5M Burisma bribe) was fabricated by FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, who was later indicted for lying and pleaded guilty in December 2024. Total documented Hunter Biden foreign-linked income was on the order of low millions over a decade, primarily from paintings and a Ukrainian board seat.

Reality

In the eighteen months since taking office, Trump family entities have collected approximately $2.3 billion in cash and holdings across four crypto ventures (World Liberty Financial, the $TRUMP memecoin, American Bitcoin, ALT5 Sigma), while retail investors have lost approximately $2.3 billion. Trump Jr. and Eric Trump personally met government officials in at least eight foreign countries during the year their father set U.S. foreign policy. Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners manages $6.16B, 99% foreign sovereign wealth, and has collected roughly $157.5M in guaranteed management fees from foreign governments while Kushner serves as Special Envoy for Peace.

Entry 02
The Claim

I was not a fan of Epstein. I watched people saying that I threw him out of a club and I didn't want anything to do with him. He was a creep.

Verbatim

Trump, White House press remarks, July 2019 (compiled by Rolling Stone, July 2025)

By Who

Donald J. Trump; his 2024 campaign; his post-inauguration Justice Department and White House press operation

Trump has, on the record since 2015, deflected every Epstein question toward Bill Clinton (“Why don't you talk to Bill Clinton about that?”, July 2019 press conference). That pivot survived the November 2025 signing of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Reality

On June 25, 2026, a federal judge (Emmet G. Sullivan, D.D.C.) issued a 48-page preliminary injunction finding that Trump's Justice Department is very likely violating the Epstein Files Transparency Act by refusing to release the documents Congress ordered released. The withheld materials the court itemized include FBI interview notes referencing an allegation involving a 13-year-old and Trump, a draft indictment against a still-living co-conspirator, and eight emails. Trump's Deputy Attorney General, Todd Blanche, is Trump's former personal defense attorney. On July 2, 2026, Blanche defied the court order and offered only in camera review.

Entry 03
By Who

Donald J. Trump; Trump-Vance 2024 campaign

Trump extended the 'no conflicts, best people' framing in a Fox News Sunday interview in December 2016, saying (verbatim) “I'm not going to be doing deals at all” during his presidency. The 'drain the swamp' line was repeated at every 2024 rally.

Reality

The second Trump cabinet is unusual for the density of officials with pre-existing private-sector conflicts and the aggressiveness of the ethics-waiver apparatus around them. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick's sons (ages 27 and younger) were installed as Cantor Fitzgerald CEO/Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman on the day of his confirmation; Cantor was then lead placement agent on a $1.58 billion Commerce Department rare-earth deal. Trump personally purchased between $1M and $5M of Axon stock two weeks before his ICE agency posted a $220M Sources Sought Notice tailored to Axon's Taser 10 specifications. The Executive Branch private members' club (co-owned by Trump Jr. and cabinet-adjacent principals) charges $500,000 per seat and hosts sitting cabinet members and regulators.

Entry 04
The Claim

That the Trump Mobile T1 phone is designed and built in the USA.

Paraphrase (not a direct quote)

Trump Mobile launch materials and Trump family social media announcements, June 16, 2025 (as documented by the Washington Post)

By Who

The Trump Organization; Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump on social media

Reality

Teardown analysis conducted by the Washington Post and multiple hardware reviewers identified the Trump Mobile T1 as an HTC U24 Pro, a phone designed in Taiwan and assembled in China. The 'Made in USA' claim was quietly softened in Trump Mobile's own marketing copy within weeks of launch. This is happening while the Trump administration imposes tariffs on imports from Asia in the name of American manufacturing.

Entry 05
By Who

Donald J. Trump; White House press operation

Trump revisited the same commitment in a January 8, 2026 New York Times interview, this time in the past tense: “I prohibited them from conducting business in my first term, and I received absolutely no acknowledgment for it.”

Reality

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) documented that Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump personally met government officials in at least eight foreign countries during the first year of Trump's second term, including announced or completed business deals in Kazakhstan (tungsten mining), Albania (Sazan Island development), Serbia (Belgrade Ministry of Defense site), and multiple Gulf states. The Kushner side of the family raised billions in Gulf sovereign wealth through Affinity Partners on parallel tracks.

Why this page exists

We do not put people on this page because we disagree with them politically. We put them on this page because the record contradicts the record they made themselves. The rule for entry is simple: a public claim on one hand, a documented public reality on the other, and enough distance between the two that no reasonable reading reconciles them.

The bar for a “grifter” verdict is not partisanship. It is the demonstrable gap between what someone tells the public and what the public record shows they are doing. When both sides of the gap are cited and dated, the label follows.

Full method: Methodology.
