The Pretoria Playbook
The hub, restaged as a presenter deck: the pattern it keeps finding, the cases on the record, and the questions still open. The roster reads from the live index, so it stays current as investigations land. Open the full hub.
The Pretoria Playbook
Apartheid political culture, imported. A political culture can be defeated at home and still travel — through the people raised inside its schools, and through the fortunes those people go on to build. This hub documents the overlap, and grades it. It does not claim to know what is in anyone's head.
Three men raised inside apartheid South Africa now hold outsized influence over U.S. tech, aerospace, and defense — and fund a political program whose planks overlap, point by point, with the ideology they were formed in.
The formation is documented. The financing is documented. The overlap is graded. Intent is not asserted — mechanism is held apart and labeled.
What this hub is, and is not.
- A record of two documented paper trails — an apartheid-era formation and a present-day financed program — and the graded overlap between them.
- Not a claim to have proven intent. A person can pass through an ideological formation and later fund a program that resembles it with no conscious decision to carry it forward.
- Mechanism — why the overlap exists — is a separate, harder question, held apart from the record and labeled as such.
Formation leaves a paper trail.
A political culture writes itself into curricula, statutes, church doctrine, and youth institutions while it holds power. Those documents survive its defeat. Anyone raised inside that system during its ruling years passed through a documented, datable formation.
A financed program leaves its own paper trail.
Campaign contributions, appointments, and public statements are matters of record. When a financed program shares specific, nameable features with a defeated ideology's founding documents, that overlap can be shown plank by plank — without asserting why it exists.
Overlap is not proof of intent.
Formation and financing overlapping does not prove a conscious decision to carry the ideology forward. This hub documents the overlap and grades it; it does not claim to have proven what was in anyone's head.
in political spending by Elon Musk in the 2024 cycle, followed by the DOGE role and his exit — the largest single measure of the financing half of the overlap.

The formation is documented: apartheid wrote itself into the schools — the Christian National Education policy (1948), the Bantu Education Act (1953) and Verwoerd's doctrine, the Broederbond and the church, and the Veldskool 'youth preparedness' militarization of white schooling.
The founding CNE document, the Bantu Education Act, and the historical record of the Broederbond and Veldskool.
Two of the three men were born and schooled inside that system: Elon Musk (Pretoria, 1971) and David Sacks (Cape Town, 1972).
The biographical record of Musk's and Sacks's birthplaces and childhoods in apartheid South Africa.
The third, Peter Thiel, spent formative years at a German-language school in Swakopmund (then South-West Africa) before building the pipeline that carried JD Vance into the Senate and Curtis Yarvin's ideas into the discourse.
Thiel's Swakopmund schooling is graded PROBABLY_TRUE on the available record; the Vance backing and Yarvin consultation are documented.
The financing is on the record: beyond Musk's ~$277M and DOGE seat, David Sacks headlined a $12 million fundraiser and took the White House 'AI & Crypto Czar' role — the formation cohort now funding and staffing the program.
OpenSecrets on Musk's spending and Politico on the Sacks fundraiser and appointment.
And the overlap can be laid out plank by plank: Christian National Education's program set beside the 2024–2026 American program (Project 2025) shows nameable, specific parallels — shown, not attributed.
The side-by-side of the CNE document and Project 2025; graded PROBABLY_TRUE because the overlap is demonstrable while intent is not claimed.
One receipt is already contested: the GAO could not verify DOGE's 'Wall of Receipts' savings — the program's headline claim, unconfirmed on audit.

Two paper trails — shown, not attributed.
- Christian National Education (1948); Bantu Education Act (1953).
- The Broederbond, the church, and Veldskool youth preparedness.
- A system three men were raised inside during its ruling years.
- ~$277M and a DOGE seat; a $12M fundraiser and a Czar role.
- Thiel's pipeline into the Senate and the discourse.
- A 2024–26 program whose planks overlap the CNE document.

What each of the three men was personally taught in the classroom is undocumented.
The apartheid schooling system is documented; the specific lessons any individual received are not — held at SOME_SMOKE.
Help us fill it →Whether the ideological overlap reflects any conscious carry-forward is unproven.
Mechanism — why formation and financing overlap — is held apart from the record and not asserted.
Help us fill it →DOGE's actual savings are unverified.
The GAO could not confirm the 'Wall of Receipts'; the headline figure stands unaudited.
Help us fill it →Why it matters now — and where it connects.
The question the hub poses — should we be worried? — is answered the only defensible way: by documenting two paper trails and grading the overlap, not by claiming to read minds. And the actors are not strangers to the rest of the Audit: Musk and DOGE, Thiel and the Vance–Yarvin pipeline, and Project 2025 are the very spine of The Corporate State, and the money is Return on Investment. A culture defeated at home can still travel with the people it raised — and this is where that claim is kept honest.
